The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
south central Pinal County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 415 am MST

* at 117 am MST... Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Radar precipitation estimates
half an inch to near an inch around the Coolidge area and half
inch to three quarter inch values near the interchange between
interstates 8 and 10 southeast of Casa Grande. One personal
weather station gauge around the Coolidge area was reporting
eight tenths of an inch. Already observed rainfall and continue
thunderstorm rain will lead to minor flooding in the
advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Casa Grande... Florence... Coolidge... Arizona City... Toltec... Arizola...
Randolph... Coolidge Airport... Interstate 8 and Interstate 10
interchange... La Palma and Valley Farms.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

central Pinal County in southeastern Arizona...
northeastern Pima County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 215 am MST

* at 1117 PM MST... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
scattered showers and thunderstorms producing locally heavy rain.
These showers and thunderstorms were moving to the west at 20 mph.
Expect minor flooding of roadways and ponding of water in the
advisory area.

This monsoon season has started out quite wet in Southeast Arizona.
Yesterday, June 29th, 1.15 inches of rain fell at the Tucson
International Airport which was a new record for the day. This was
more than double the old record of 0.55 inches set in 1912.

This rain added to our already above normal monthly total and
vaulted US into the third wettest June on record. The current
monthly total as of midnight was 1.47 inches which just squeezed
ahead of the previous third place of 1.46 inches and is within
striking distance of the all time record of 2.07 inches.
