The Flood Warning continues for
the Steinhatchee River near Steinhatchee (us 19).
* Until further notice.
* At 8:45 am Monday the stage was 15.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and will continue.
* Flood stage is 12.2 feet.
* Forecast: the river will crest this morning near 15.7 feet and then
begin to slowly fall.
* Impact: at 15.7 feet: water has flooded all of River Road NE and
Ancient Oaks private roads up to 3 feet deep in some areas. All
houses and Mobile homes now have water flowing underneath. Water is
also flooding property and is under some houses on cooey island
near Palm street NE.

... July 2015 tied the hottest July on record for Tallahassee...

The average monthly temperature for July recorded at the Tallahassee
Regional Airport was 85.4 degrees, 3.4 degrees above normal. This
ties the hottest July on record that was set back in 1932. The
highest temperature recorded during the month was 100 degrees which
occurred on the 12th, 13th, 28th and 29th. The lowest temperature
was 68 degrees on the 1st. On the 19th, 21st and 31st, the low
temperature of either 77 or 78 degrees tied the record high minimum
temperature for those days. On the 29th, the low temperature of 78
degrees established a new record high minimum temperature for that
day. There were no other temperature records tied or broken during
the month.

Rainfall at the Tallahassee Regional Airport for July measured
6.15 inches, or 1.02 inches below normal. There were 17 days with
measurable rainfall during the month which was normal. The
greatest amount in a 24-hour period was 1.40 inches on the 23rd.
There were 21 days with thunder at the Airport which was 2 above
normal. The peak wind gust was 44 mph from the west on the 23rd.

The outlook for August from the climate prediction center calls for
an enhanced chance of experiencing above normal temperatures and
equal chances for above, normal, or below normal rainfall. The
average monthly temperature for August is 81.8 and normal rainfall
is 7.35 inches.
