The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a
* Flood Warning for
the Flint River near Woolsey.
* Until further notice.
* At 445 PM Sunday the stage was 48.0 feet... and rising.
* Flood stage is 48 feet.
* At 48 feet... flood stage is reached. Minor flooding begins of the
natural flood plain upstream and downstream from the gage on
Hampton Woolsey Road. This will primarily affect Woodlands...
agricultural fields and pastures.

... Flood Warning extended until Monday morning... the Flood Warning
continues for
the Flint River near Lovejoy.
* Until Monday morning.
* At 10 am Sunday the stage was 13.3 feet... and rising.
* Minor flooding will continue.
* Flood stage is 12 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 13.5 feet by this afternoon.
The river will fall below flood stage early Monday.
* At 14 feet... moderate flooding begins. Significant flooding
occurs of residential yards upstream of the gage betweenupper
Riverdale Road and Georgia Highway 138. Some roads begin to flood
such as upper Riverdale Road and mockingbird Road. Flooding expands
on portions of the Rivers Edge Golf course. Several holes and
Fairways will flood.

Flash Flood Watch

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 PM EST this
evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* north and central Georgia.

* Until 7 PM EST this evening.

* A strong upper level disturbance and abundant Gulf moisture
will combine to create widespread showers and thunderstorms
overnight and well into Sunday. Rainfall will be heavy at
times and may move repeatedly across the same areas. Two to
four inches of rain has already fallen today. Additional
rainfall amounts of one to three inches will be likely... with
locally higher amounts possible.

* Flooding in low lying and flood prone areas will be likely. In
addition... creeks... streams and rivers may overflow their
banks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.





Wind Advisory

... Wind Advisory in effect from 1 am to 7 PM EST Monday...

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 1 am to 7 PM EST Monday.

* Locations... north and central Georgia

* winds... 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Winds will be
southwest Monday morning... shifting to the northwest by Monday
afternoon.

* Timing... winds will be gusty today in and near developing
storms... but the threat of high non-convective winds will begin
following the storms. The main threat will be between 1 am and
7pm Monday... although some winds may remain gusty into Monday
night... particularly in the north Georgia mountains.

* Impacts... these winds may break tree branches and down weaker
trees... particularly those in saturated soils due to recent
heavy rainfall. Unsecured outdoor items may be blown around.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of at least 20 mph or wind gusts
of at least 35 mph mph are expected. Winds this strong can make
driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use
extra caution.

A strengthening area of low pressure moving across north Georgia
is causing a brief period of strong wind gusts 30 to 45 mph,
mainly from the west-southwest. Areas in west-central Georgia,
from Atlanta to Macon to Columbus, can expect the gusty winds
through around 7pm EST. Expect a few downed trees and powerlines
with these brief gusty winds.

The stronger winds will likely spread north and east across the
remainder of north and central Georgia through early this evening,
but should not last for more than 1 to 2 hours.
