* Flood Warning for...
Wabaunsee County in east central Kansas...
eastern Morris County in east central Kansas...
Shawnee County in east central Kansas...
northwestern Jefferson County in northeastern Kansas...
southeastern Geary County in east central Kansas...
eastern Jackson County in northeastern Kansas...
southeastern Riley County in northeastern Kansas...
northwestern Osage County in east central Kansas...
Lyon County in east central Kansas...
southeastern Pottawatomie County in northeastern Kansas...

* until 615 am CDT

* at 1219 am CDT... law enforcement has reported several Road
closures in the warning area. Radar estimated an average of three
to six inches of rain has fallen resulting in flooding. Flood
waters will be slow to recede in the next several hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Topeka... Emporia... Holton... Council Grove... Rossville... Alma...
Eskridge... St. Marys... Dover... Silver Lake... Auburn... Americus...
Hoyt... Maple Hill... Alta Vista... Mayetta... McFarland...
Harveyville... Paxico and Denison.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 35 between mile markers 128 and 135.
Interstate 70 between mile markers 317 and 355.
Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 116 and 173.

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

the Mill Creek near Paxico.
* From late tonight to Sunday evening.
* At 11:16 PM Saturday the stage was 16.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Sunday morning and continue to
rise to near 22.6 feet by Sunday morning.The river will fall below
flood stage by Sunday morning.
* Impact... at 21.0 feet... low lying farm fields and campsites along
the creek begin to flood.
