* until 1015 PM EDT

* at 615 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain moving through
the area. Rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will occur at
times through 9 PM. Excess runoff will cause minor flooding of
poor drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Mount Sterling, Morehead, Flemingsburg, Owingsville, Sandy Hook,
Frenchburg, Marshall, Jeffersonville, Camargo, Sharpsburg, Salt
Lick, Fairview, Zag, Pecks Ridge, levee, Cornwell, Elliottville,
Rothwell, Christy and Hilda.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of east central Kentucky, northeast Kentucky, south
central Kentucky, and southeast Kentucky, including the
following areas, in east central Kentucky, Bath, Elliott,
Estill, Fleming, Menifee, Montgomery, Powell, and Rowan. In
northeast Kentucky, Johnson and Martin. In south central
Kentucky, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne, and
Whitley. In southeast Kentucky, Bell, Breathitt, Clay, Floyd,
Harlan, Jackson, Knott, Knox, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Magoffin,
Morgan, Owsley, Perry, Pike, and Wolfe.

* Through Saturday morning

* showers and thunderstorms with a potential for very heavy
rainfall will move across the area through early tonight.
Precipitation will diminish and exit the region late tonight
and early Saturday morning.

* Flash flooding of creeks and streams will be possible.
