Mittie... Kinder... Elizabeth...
southeastern Beauregard Parish in southwest Louisiana...
eastern Calcasieu Parish in southwest Louisiana...

* at 1202 PM CDT... moderate to heavy rain continues from Lake
Charles and Iowa to Oakdale and Basile. Rainfall totals from this
morning range from 2 inches to around 9 inches with another inch
or more possible. Local law enforcement officials reported many
roadways closed around the city of Lake Charles and are urging
motorist to stay off the streets until the flooding recedes.

Lake... Harmony... Duralde... Chicot State Park... Bond... Bayou
Chicot... Allen Parish Airport... Reddell... Pine Prairie... LeBlanc
and Beaver

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... highways and underpasses. Additionally... country
roads and farmlands along the banks of creeks... streams and other low
lying areas are subject to flooding.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

* average total rain amounts of 2 to 4 inches will be possible
through this evening... with isolated amounts up to 5 inches
possible.
