* Flash Flood Warning for...
southwestern Beauregard Parish in southwestern Louisiana...
western Jefferson Davis Parish in southwestern Louisiana...
Calcasieu Parish in southwestern Louisiana...

* until 1130 am CDT

* at 834 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. 2 to 5 inches of rain have
fallen... and an additional 2 to 4 inches of rain is possible
across over the next few hours. Flash flooding is expected to
begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lake Charles... Sulphur... Westlake... Vinton... Iowa... Moss Bluff... Lake
Charles Regional Airport... Starks... Gillis... Buller... Carlyss... lebleu
settlement... Holmwood... Buhler... Edgerly... Lunita and Topsy.

southeastern Calcasieu Parish in southwestern Louisiana...
Acadia Parish in southwestern Louisiana...
Lafayette Parish in south central Louisiana...

* until 1130 am CDT

* at 730 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Two to six inches of rain have
fallen... and an additional 2 to 4 inches of rain is possible
across over the next few hours. Some public reports indicate water
is covering roadways and approaching homes. Flash flooding is
expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lafayette... Opelousas... Crowley... Catahoula... Eunice... Jennings... Scott...
Breaux Bridge... Rayne... Carencro... St. Martinville... Church Point...

The Flood Warning continues for
the Calcasieu River near salt water barrier.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:00 PM Saturday the stage was 4.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 5.0 feet by
Tuesday morning then begin falling.
* Impact... at stages near 5.5 feet... access roads including River
Road in North Lake Charles and Mims Road in Westlake become
impassable to some vehicles.
* Impact... at stages near 5.0 feet... River Road in North Lake
Charles and Mims Road in Westlake are flooded. Extensive Marshland
flooding will occur.
* Impact... at stages near 4.5 feet... water covers portions of River
Road in North Lake Charles.
* Impact... at stages near 4.0 feet... minor Marshland flooding
occurs. Flooding also begins on River Road in North Lake Charles.

the Calcasieu River at Old Town Bay.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 5:00 PM Saturday the stage was 5.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 5.5 feet by
Tuesday evening then begin falling.
* Impact... at stages near 6.0 feet... goos Ferry Road becomes
impassable.
* Impact... at stages near 5.0 feet... water over lowest portions of
goos Ferry Road. Cars should be moved to higher ground.
* Impact... at stages near 4.0 feet... minor flooding of goos Ferry
Road will occur.
* Impact... at stages near 3.5 feet... ponding of water on low spots
along goos Ferry Road will occur.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Sabine River near Deweyville.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:45 PM Saturday the stage was 24.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 25.2 feet by
Tuesday morning. Additional rises may be possible thereafter.
* Impact... at stages near 25.0 feet... lowest roads beside the river
flood around Deweyville and subject to being closed. In addition,
low-lying roads in southwest Beauregard Parish are flooded
including Robert Clark Road. Flooding occurs on the south side of
Niblett Bluff park with access roads to Camp houses cut off around
the park. Access roads to the river in northeastern Orange County
become flooded.
* Impact... at stages near 24.0 feet... minor lowland flooding will
occur.

* until 1000 am CDT

* at 801 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding... especially along
creeks and bayous... low-lying spots and urban areas. Radar
estimates one to two inches of rain have already fallen across
parts of the area... and rainfall rates up to 4 inches per hour can
be expected with the heavier storms.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Beaumont... Lake Charles... Port Arthur... Sulphur... Orange... Bridge City...
West Orange... Vinton... Deweyville... Starks... Mauriceville... Forest
Heights... Carlyss... Orangefield... Hartburg... Buhler... Edgerly and
Lunita.

central Calcasieu Parish in southwestern Louisiana...

* until 845 am CDT

* at 541 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding
especially across portions of Lake Charles. Hourly rainfall rates
between 3 and 5 inches per hour can be expected... and rain is
expected to be slow to drain.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lake Charles... Westlake... Moss Bluff... Lake Charles Regional Airport...
Gillis... Holmwood and lebleu settlement.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Louisiana and southeast Texas... including the
following areas... in Louisiana... Acadia... Allen... Avoyelles...
Beauregard... Calcasieu... East Cameron... Evangeline... Iberia...
Jefferson Davis... Lafayette... lower St. Martin... Rapides... St.
Landry... St. Mary... upper St. Martin... Vermilion... Vernon and
West Cameron. In southeast Texas... Hardin... Jefferson...
northern Jasper... northern Newton... Orange... southern Jasper...
   southern Newton and Tyler.

* Through Monday evening

* rainfall amounts of two to five inches is possible in the watch
area... with locally higher amounts.

* Primary impacts will be flash flooding of low lying locations
especially in urban areas with poor drainage or along low
lying rural roads. Flooding of streams... creeks and bayous can
be expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

Flood Advisory... which is in effect until 5 PM CDT this
afternoon.

* Coastal flooding... tide levels will range between 3.0 and 3.5
MLLW around astronomical high tide.

* Timing... through this afternoon.

* Impacts... minor flooding with water in low spots on area roads
near Sabine Pass... Cameron... Hackberry... Intracoastal City...
Delcambre... Cypremort Point... Franklin... and Morgan City.

Also... minor flooding with water across roads near Sabine Lake...
Calcasieu Lake and along the lower Calcasieu River south of the
saltwater barrier.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
