... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 PM this evening to
11 am EDT Friday...

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 6 PM this
evening to 11 am EDT Friday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in
effect.

Hazardous weather...

* precipitation will begin this afternoon as a mix of rain and snow
   before transitioning to mainly snow late this afternoon. Snow may
   fall heavy at times tonight... and slowly diminish in intensity
   Friday morning.

* Storm total snowfall of 3 to 8 inches is expected... with the
   highest amounts across the elevated terrain from Hancock through
   Mohawk and Copper Harbor.

Impacts...

* roads will become snow and slush covered.

* Gusty east to southeast winds of 15 to 25 mph tonight may result
   in blowing and drifting snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* a Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause
   primarily travel difficulties.

The Flood Advisory continues for
the Sturgeon river near Chassell
* until Thursday morning.
* At 4 PM Wednesday the stage was 10.3 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.5 feet.
* Forecast... the river will is expected to crest below flood stage
this evening and begin falling overnight through Thursday morning.
* At 10.5 feet... the river begins to overflow onto Sturgeon River
Road... rajala Road... and Aho Road.
