a record rainfall of 2.48 inches was set at Joplin MO yesterday.
This breaks the old record of 2.44 set in 1957.

            Local 911 center reported several trees down along Hwy 82
            about a mile and a half west of the SAC River Bridge.

Tornado, reported by NWS storm survey.


            A NWS storm survey found that an EF-1 tornado touched
            about 3 miles south of Lowry City and crossed Hwy 13. The
            tornado tracked northeast and lifted on NE 1000 Road just
            east of Hwy nn. The tornado severely damaged two homes
            and several outbuildings. The tornado uprooted and damage
            numerous trees along the path. The path was approximately
            200 yards wide and about 4 and half miles long. Maximum
            winds were estimated up to 100 mph.

Additional information...

A NWS storm survey team found that an EF-1 tornado touched down
about 1 mile west of Theodosia. The tornado tracked north
northeast and lifted about two and half miles east of Longrun. The
tornado caused minor damage to a Mobile home and damaged or
destroyed 3 barns. The tornado uprooted or snapped several hundred
trees. The tornado path was approximately 200 yards wide and about
4 and half miles long. Maximum winds were estimated up to 95 mph.
