Areal Flood Watch

... Flood Watch in effect from 6 PM MDT this evening through
Tuesday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Glasgow has expanded the

* Flood Watch to include a portion of northeast Montana...
including the following areas... central and southern valley...
Daniels and northern valley.

* From 6 PM MDT this evening through Tuesday afternoon

* with already wet ground from this morning and a forecast of
between 2 to 3 inches of addition rainfall... the area will be
primed for possible flooding.

* With wet ground conditions expected high winds forecast for
Tuesday could cause issues with uprooting of trees.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.





High Wind Warning, Lake Wind Advisory

... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 am MDT Tuesday
for Fort Peck Lake...

... High Wind Warning in effect from 9 am to 9 PM MDT Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Glasgow has issued a High Wind
Warning... which is in effect from 9 am to 9 PM MDT Tuesday. The
high wind watch is no longer in effect. A lake Wind Advisory for
Fort Peck Lake remains in effect until 9 am MDT Tuesday.

* Lake Wind Advisory timing... now through Tuesday morning.

* Lake Wind Advisory winds... northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up
to 40 mph.

* Lake Wind Advisory impacts... these winds will make open waters
of the lake rough and hazardous... and may result in high waves
which may tip or swamp smaller craft.

* High Wind Warning timing... Tuesday morning through Tuesday
evening.

* High Wind Warning winds... 30 to 45 mph gusting to 60 mph at
times.

* High wind watch impacts... unsecured items and property could be
blown about... high profile vehicles will have difficulty with
Crosswinds. Fort Peck Lake will become extremely hazardous and
waves could easily swamp/tip small to moderate size craft.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

Boaters should use caution if venturing onto Fort Peck Lake
during advisory time and avoid the open waters by staying close
to shore or in protected areas. As the High Wind Warning period
approaches... it may be best to exit the lake completely.

Take action to secure trash cans... lawn furniture... and other
loose or lightweight outdoor objects. High winds can topple
trees... blow weakened roofs off houses... and down power lines.
