The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
Boyd County in north central Nebraska...
Holt County in north central Nebraska...
Keya Paha County in north central Nebraska...

* until 300 am CDT Friday

* at 850 PM CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across the advisory area. Doppler
radar estimated up to two and a half inches of rain over the area.

* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding to
occur... especially along small streams and near low water
crossings. Some locations that will experience minor flooding
include... Oneill... Spencer... Springview... Amelia... Anoka...
Atkinson... Bristow... Burton... Butte... Chambers... Emmet... Ewing...
gross... Inman... Lynch... Mills... Monowi... Naper... Page... Stuart and
Swan Lake.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An additional two to four inches of rainfall are still possible in
the advisory area.

across western and north central Nebraska...

Showers and thunderstorms... which in some cases produced localized
heavy rainfall... were common across the Panhandle...
southwestern... central sandhills... eastern sandhills... and north
central Nebraska during the day on Wednesday August 27th and
throughout the overnight and morning hours of Thursday August
28th. Total rainfall varied widely from 6.50 inches being
reported 1.0 mile north of Grainton... to as little as 0.07 inches
near Thedford.
