... July temperatures were near normal for North Platte and
Valentine... while precipitation was below normal for North Platte
and near normal for Valentine...

The weather pattern began to shift in July across western and north
central Nebraska. After a wet southwesterly pattern aloft in
June... the upper level pattern transitioned to more of a westerly
and northwesterly flow pattern in July. This pattern shift led to
spotty precipitation coverage during the month. Precipitation during
the month was near normal across northern Nebraska... slightly below
normal across the sandhills and portions of central Nebraska... while
below normal to much below normal precipitation occurred in
southwestern Nebraska.

For North Platte... the average daily mean temperature for July was
74.2 degrees which was 0.1 degrees below the normal of 74.3 degrees.
The average daily high temperature for July was 87.9 degrees... which
was 0.3 degrees below the normal of 88.2 degrees. The average daily
low temperature was 60.4 degrees... which was at the normal of 60.4
degrees. One daily record temperature was set during the month at
North Platte. On the 8th... the high temperature only reached 64
degrees. This set the record low maximum temperature for that
date... breaking the record of 67 degrees set previously in 1905.

For Valentine... the average daily mean temperature for the month of
July was 73.4 degrees... and was 1.1 degrees below the normal of 74.5
degrees. The average daily high temperature for the month was 87.6
degrees... which was 1.1 degrees below the normal of 88.7 degrees.
The average daily low temperature was 59.2 degrees... which was 1.2
degrees below the normal of 60.4 degrees. No daily temperature
records were set during July 2015 for Valentine.

At Lee Bird Field in North Platte... precipitation for July was 2.55
inches... and was 0.52 inches below the normal of 3.07 inches. One
daily precipitation record was set during the month of July at North
Platte. On the 15th... 1.80 inches of rain fell at Lee Bird Field.
This broke the record of 0.82 inches set previously in 1888.

At Miller Field in Valentine... precipitation for July totaled 3.25
inches... which was 0.04 inches above the normal of 3.21 inches. One
daily precipitation record was set during the month of July at
Valentine. On the 5th... 1.69 inches of rain fell at Miller Field...
breaking the record of 1.60 inches set previously in 1930.
