... NWS damage survey for may 17 2017 tornado event...

On Wednesday, may 17, staff from the National Weather Service (nws)
in Hastings conducted a damage survey for a line of thunderstorms
that moved through the area during the early morning hours of may 17.
The survey revealed an EF-1 tornado occurred approximately 6 miles
northeast of Edgar Nebraska. The tornado remained on the ground for
2.2 miles with a maximum path width of 50 yards. Two farmsteads
received damage, mainly to outbuildings and trees. A few center
irrigation pivots were also damaged as the tornado moved across
a part of Clay County.
