* at 910 PM CDT... numerous reports have been received of flooded
roadways across east central Oklahoma through far northwest
Arkansas. Light to moderate rain will cotinue through the evening
with an increase in heavy rainfall later tonight through much of
the day on Wednesday. Additional flash flood warnings may be
required to highlight areas of additional excessive rainfal.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. If flooding is observed act quickly. Move up to
higher ground to escape flood waters. Do not stay in areas subject to
flooding when water begins rising.

The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the baron Fork river at Eldon
* from Wednesday afternoon to late Wednesday night, or until the
warning is cancelled.
* At 8:30 PM Tuesday, the stage was 11.92 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the baron Fork river at Eldon is expected to rise above
flood stage early Wednesday afternoon and continue to rise to near
19.1 feet by Wednesday evening. The river is expected to fall below
flood stage Wednesday evening.
* Impact... at 20.0 feet, moderate flooding occurs. Grazing lands near
the river become inundated. Low-lying areas near Camp Egan may
experience minor flooding.

the Flood Warning continues for
the Illinois River near Tahlequah
* from Wednesday afternoon to late Friday night, or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 8:00 PM Tuesday, the stage was 6.80 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the Illinois River near Tahlequah is expected to rise
above flood stage early Wednesday afternoon and continue to rise to
near 17.8 feet by Thursday evening. The river is expected to fall
below flood stage late Friday evening.
* Impact... at 18.0 feet, severe flooding occurs from Chewey bridge
downstream towards Tahlequah. Highway 10 near Hanging Rock
northeast of Tahlequah is impassable. Some cabin Parks are severely
flooded. This is a very dangerous situation.

Flood Advisory, Flash Flood Watch

The Flood Advisory continues for
the Flint creek near Kansas
* until Thursday morning, or until the advisory is cancelled.
* At 8:30 PM Tuesday, the stage was 7.6 feet.
* Action stage is 8.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will rise to near 10.0 feet by early Wednesday
afternoon, which is below flood stage.
* Impact... at 11.0 feet, minor flooding occurs from Fidlers Bend to
Chewey bridge. Permanent campgrounds and farmlands are affected.
Turbulence makes the river unsafe for floating.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of northwest Arkansas and Oklahoma... including the
following areas... in northwest Arkansas... Benton... Carroll...
Crawford... Madison and Washington AR. In Oklahoma... Adair...
Cherokee... Craig... creek... Delaware... Haskell... Mayes...
McIntosh... Muskogee... Nowata... Okfuskee... Okmulgee... Osage...
Ottawa... Pawnee... Pittsburg... Rogers... Sequoyah... Tulsa...
Wagoner and Washington OK.

* Through Wednesday evening

* a swath of 3 to 5 inches of rain is forecast along and on
either side of a line from near lake Eufaula northeastward
toward Bentonville and Rogers... with 2 to 4 inches expected to
fall as far north as a Pawnee to Bartlesville line. Some
isolated locations could receive as much as 10 inches of
rainfall by Wednesday evening. Dangerous flash flooding will
likely be the result.

quick action if flash flooding is observed or if a warning is
issued.
