Coastal Flood Advisory

... Coastal flood advisory in effect until 9 am EDT this morning...

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a coastal
flood advisory, which is in effect until 9 am EDT this morning.

* Locations... low-lying coastal areas of Charleston, Beaufort,
and Colleton counties including downtown Charleston.

* Tide levels... peaking between 7.3 and 7.4 feet mean lower low
water, or between 1.5 and 1.6 feet mean higher high water.

* Timing... high tide will occur around 7:37 am today at
Charleston. Shallow saltwater flooding will be possible 1 to 2
hours before and after high tide.

* Coastal flood impacts... inundation of saltwater in coastal
areas could result in some roads becoming impassable and minor
flooding of properties.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be prepared for the possibility of impassable roads and minor
flooding of properties. If travel is necessary, do not attempt to
drive through water of unknown depth.


Time of high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.
