Areal Flood Advisory, Flash Flood Watch

The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a

* small stream Flood Advisory for...
central Concho County in west central Texas...

* until 345 PM CDT

* at 1241 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding in the
advisory area. Close to two inches of rain have already fallen...
and additional rainfall is possible in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Millersview... ivie Reservoir near Concho park Marina... the
intersection of ranch Road 1929 and ranch Road 2134... the
intersection of US-83 and ranch Road 765 and Vick.

This includes the following low water crossings ...
    crossings along County Road 4508...
    County Road 4508 crossing Duck Creek and
    County Road 4131 crossing Maverick creek.
Do not drive through these low water crossings or any other
low water crossing with water flowing across the roadway.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... as well as farm and country roads. Do not
attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.

The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of west central Texas...
including the following areas... Brown... Callahan... Coke...
Coleman... Concho... Crockett... Fisher... Haskell... Irion...
Jones... Kimble... Mason... McCulloch... Menard... Nolan...
Runnels... San Saba... Schleicher... Shackelford... Sterling...
Sutton... Taylor... Throckmorton and Tom Green.

* Through Thursday morning

* locally heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches will be possible through
Thursday. Some areas may see totals in excess of 4 inches.

* Flooding will be possible in city streets and other low-lying
and poor drainage areas. Flood waters may result in rapidly
rising creeks... streams... and rivers. Avoid low water
crossings.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
