... NWS damage survey for the 5/26/16 tornado event near Burkett...

.Overview...
Supercell thunderstorms produced severe weather across portions of
west central Texas during the evening hours of may 26th. One of
the stronger storms moved across northern Coleman County,
producing a tornado that crossed Highway 206 near Burkett. No
injuries or fatalities occurred with this tornado, but minor
damage was noted along the path. A summary of the survey follows.

Hardwood tree damage was the primary damage indicator used in the
survey. Large limbs were down and a few outbuildings suffered
minor damage along the path, corresponding to EF-0 damage. A few
Hardwood trees were snapped at the trunk approximately 1 mile
west-southwest of Burkett, indicating maximum wind speeds of
90-95 mph (ef-1). The tornado was approximately one-quarter mile
wide north of echo, narrowing to around 75 yards as it dissipated
near Burkett.

Ef scale: the Enhanced Fujita scale classifies tornadoes into
the following categories.

EF0... weak... ... 65 to 85 mph
EF1... weak... ... 86 to 110 mph
EF2... strong... .111 to 135 mph
