The Flood Warning continues for
the Neches River near Diboll.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8:15 PM Friday the stage was 15.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 16.7 feet by
Sunday morning then begin falling.
* Impact... at 17.0 feet... lowland flooding will continue for several
days. Ranchers should evacuate livestock and equipment near the
river to higher ground.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Neches River near Neches.
* From late tonight until further notice... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 7:30 PM Friday the stage was 11.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by early tomorrow and continue to
rise to near 12.6 feet by tomorrow early afternoon.
* Impact... at 12.0 feet... expect minor lowland flooding of the heavily
wooded floodplain. Ranchers that may have livestock and equipment
in the river bottoms should move them to higher ground.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Neches River near Alto.
* From late tonight to Thursday afternoon... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 7:15 am the river was estimated to be near 12.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast... expect the river to rise to near 17.3 late Saturday
or early Sunday and hold steady for a few days.

Storm survey found fairly large area of significant damage south of
Navasota near FM 2988 with trunks of large trees snapped and several
structures severely damaged. Two homes had their roofs removed. A
commercial metal building system was severely damaged. Initially
considered possibility of large tornado but careful inspection of
damage and radar data... think there were actually two tornadoes.
Each of the Navasota tornadoes was borderline EF1 EF2 damage.

Ef scale: the Enhanced Fujita scale classifies tornadoes
into the following categories.

EF0... weak... ... 65 to 85 mph
EF1... weak... ... 86 to 110 mph
EF2... strong... .111 to 135 mph
EF3... strong... .136 to 165 mph
EF4... violent... 166 to 200 mph
EF5... violent... >200 mph
