... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 230 am CDT for
southwestern Nueces... Jim Wells and Kleberg counties...

At 120 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated that the thunderstorms
producing the heaviest rain have moved eastern of the warned area.
However... additional light to moderate rain continues across Jim
Wells... western Kleberg and western Nueces counties. Radar estimates
of one to two inches of rain has already fallen with an additional
one half to one inch possible across the warned area.

central Kleberg County in south central Texas...

* until 300 am CDT

* at 100 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain moving across the warned area. Flash flooding is
expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Corpus Christi... Kingsville... Alice... Portland... Robstown...
Sinton... Mathis... Port Aransas... Taft... Driscoll... Corpus Christi
International Airport... Ingleside... Aransas Pass... Bishop... Odem...

The Flood Warning continues for the Nueces River near Bluntzer.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8:00 PM Saturday the stage was 29.4 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast: the river will continue to fall to a stage of 28.3 feet
by Monday morning.

* At 31.0 feet, major lowland flooding occurs from near blutzer to
Calallen. Widespread residential flooding likely will occur for
weeks. This includes homes in the following subdivisions: Sandy
hallow, los dos Palomas, los Escondido, and along Oak lne in Rio
encinos. Many secondary roads, primary roads, and low bridges are
flooded, with water possibly a few feet deep. Livestock are cut off
possibly for weeks and could drown.

The Flood Warning continues for the Nueces River at Mathis.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8:00 PM Saturday the stage was 25.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Forecast: the river will remain near 25.9 feet.

* At 26.0 feet, moderate lowland flooding occurs. Many homes
downstream between Bluntzer and calallan become flooded, with
residents possibly cut off for weeks.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of south Texas... including the following areas...
Aransas... Bee... Calhoun... Duval... Goliad... Jim Wells...
Kleberg... La Salle... Live Oak... McMullen... Nueces... Refugio...
San Patricio... Victoria and Webb.

* Through Monday morning

* several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to
occur over much of the Holiday weekend. Rainfall totals of 2
to 5 inches are expected... on average... with isolated higher
amounts likely.

* Due to the very moist conditions of the grounds and soils in
the area... rapid flash flooding will be possible where heavy
rains develop.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means flash flooding is possible in or near
the watch area. If you are in the watch area... plan now for what
you will do if flash flooding develops. Stay informed and be
ready to act if you see flooding or if a Flash Flood Warning is
issued.

Do not drive into flooded roadways. The majority of flood related
fatalities occur in vehicles. If you see a flooded roadway...
remember... turn around... dont drown.
