The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
southeastern Tyler County in southeastern Texas...
Hardin County in southeastern Texas...
southeastern Jasper County in southeastern Texas...
southwestern Newton County in southeastern Texas...

* until 245 PM CDT

* at 949 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the
warned area. Rainfall amounts of two to five inches of rain have
fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring and stream gauges in
the area continue to show rising water levels. While rainfall
rates have decreased for the time being... additional heavy
rainfall development is possible with up to two inches
of rain through 3 PM.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Beaumont... Lumberton... Silsbee... Newton... Kirbyville... Kountze...
Deweyville... Thicket... Fred... Saratoga... Buna... Evadale... call... Warren...
Wildwood... Lakeview... Roganville... Votaw... Village Mills and gist.

This includes but not limted to the following streams and
drainages... Village Creek... Boggy Creek... Little Cypress
creek... Cypress Creek... Nichols creek... Horsepen creek... steepbank

The Flood Warning continues for
the Sabine River near Deweyville.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8:45 am Saturday the stage was 24.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 25.5 feet by
early Wednesday morning then begin falling.
* Impact... at stages near 26.0 feet... moderate lowland flooding will
occur. The lowest homes between Deweyville and the river begin to
flood, especially in the Indian Lakes and River Oaks sections.
Low-lying roads and a few homes in southwestern Beauregard Parish
have some flooding.
* Impact... at stages near 25.0 feet... lowest roads beside the river
flood around Deweyville and subject to being closed. In addition,
low-lying roads in southwest Beauregard Parish are flooded
including Robert Clark Road. Flooding occurs on the south side of
Niblett Bluff park with access roads to Camp houses cut off around
the park. Access roads to the river in northeastern Orange County
become flooded.

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Sabine River near Bon Wier.
* From late Sunday night to late Tuesday night... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 8:15 am Saturday the stage was 27.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Monday morning and continue to
rise to near 30.2 feet by Monday early afternoon. The river will
fall below flood stage by Tuesday early afternoon.
* Impact... at stages near 30.0 feet... minor lowland flooding will
occur along the river between Merryville and Bon Wier. A few roads
in southwest Vernon Parish have water over them.

* portions of Louisiana and southeast Texas... including the
following areas... in Louisiana... Acadia... Allen... Avoyelles...
Beauregard... Calcasieu... East Cameron... Evangeline... Iberia...
Jefferson Davis... Lafayette... lower St. Martin... Rapides... St.
Landry... St. Mary... upper St. Martin... Vermilion... Vernon and
West Cameron. In southeast Texas... Hardin... Jefferson...
northern Jasper... northern Newton... Orange... southern Jasper...
   southern Newton and Tyler.

* Through Sunday morning

* rainfall amounts of two to five inches is possible in the
watch area... with locally higher amounts.

* Primary impacts will be flash flooding of low lying locations
especially in urban areas with poor drainage or along low
lying rural roads. Flooding of streams... creeks and bayous can
be expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
