Winter Weather Advisory

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 5 am Thursday to 11 am
MST Friday...

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and wind, which is in effect from 5 am
Thursday to 11 am MST Friday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer
in effect.

* Timing... snow will develop by dawn Thursday and continue into
Friday morning. The heaviest snowfall will likely occur through
Thursday evening.

* Snowfall accumulation... 8 to 12 inches near Powder River Pass
and over the southern end of the mountains.

* Main impact... Road will may become slick and snow covered. Gusty
north winds could cause blowing and drifting snow Thursday. The
visibility may become significantly reduced in blowing snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
and slick roads with limited visibilities. Slow down, and allow
extra time to reach your destination. Check the latest Road

The latest cold front completed a run across Wyoming today and left
a swath of snow across the state. Most of the snow fell across the
west and higher terrain... with mixed snow and rain at the lower
elevations. These final totals are through noon February 22nd.

Note: snotels (snow telemetry) are remote sensing sites in High
Mountain watersheds. Snowfall data from snotels are estimated
based on snow water equivalent.
